Strong Schools, Strong Community: A State of the District Address

Strong Schools Strong Community Banner

On November 6th, District 51 held our first annual Strong Schools, Strong Community Luncheon, made possible by the sponsorship of Dr. Angela Christensen and the District 51 Foundation. The luncheon brought together a diverse group of community stakeholders, fostering collaboration between attendees and District 51 school and district staff. To emphasize a focus on students, the Fruita Monument drumline welcomes guests outside, and the Orchard Avenue Student Leadership Team escorted our guests to their tables. The Grand Junction Jazz Band provided musical entertainment, and performances by the Palisade High School Choir and Central High School Theatre showcased the incredible talents of our D51 students. The luncheon concluded with a comprehensive State of the District Address, where Superintendent Dr. Brian Hill highlight the challenges facing our district and the opportunities that lay ahead.

We believe in the strengths of our people, our schools, and our communities, and we believe in the future of public education in Mesa County. The commitment to shaping a brighter future for Mesa County reflects the love for D51 today and the aspiration to love it even more tomorrow. Acknowledging the vital role of community support, the State of the District remains strong and continues to grow, thanks to your unwavering dedication.

Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to serve this community. Thank you for investing in our students and their future. And thank you for supporting Strong Schools for a Stronger Community!
